ST.PATRICK SCHOOL
Cafeteria News

August 1, 2010

Dear St. Patrick Parents and Guardians,

My name is Robin Troyer and I will be serving your families as the Cafeteria Manager/Head Cook for

St. Patrick School.  Rusty Cavallaro will be my assistant.  I enjoyed working with the students last year and look forward to seeing them this coming year.  I welcome your feedback so feel free to call or drop me a note.

For just $2.50 all grades, preschool through 8th grade, will receive a healthy hot meal and cold milk of their choice.  I think you’ll agree that it is impossible to purchase a nutritious hot meal and drink anywhere else for the same price.  If a student chooses to purchase just milk, the price is 50 cents. An adult lunch is $2.75.

Students  may  pre-pay for lunch or pay by the day.  There are no limits to pre-payment and the price will remain the same - $2.50 per meal.  Payment can be made by cash or check.  Please make checks payable to - St. Patrick Cafeteria and indicate on the check what amount is for each of your children.  These two steps save both you and me a lot of confusion.

There is a No-charge Policy in place for St. Patrick students.  Students grades K-3rd will be given a note or phone call to a parent at least a day ahead to alert the parent to a lack of funds.   Students  grades 4-8th will be told if their account is low.  If your child does not have money for lunch they will be given a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and milk with payment of $2.50 expected the next day.  This helps keep the food budget in balance and teaches the children responsibility while ensuring they do not go hungry.

For the new parents - each morning your child will pick up their personal lunch or milk stick/token to redeem later when they come through the lunch line.  To determine the quantity of food to prepare, we take a lunch count before classes begin.  If your child will be arriving late and purchasing lunch, please ask

Mrs. Rogerson to alert the lunch staff.

St. Patrick School participates in the government subsidized lunch program.  Applications for Free and Reduced Meals will be mailed before school begins.  If you would like to apply for this service, please return your application by August 24, 2010.

Lunch menus will be posted at www.stpatricklondon.org on a monthly basis.  Occasionally, I will need to substitute an item on the menu.  If your child has any food allergies, please send a list to me by August 24.  A doctor’s note of explanation is required to make specific menu substitutions for your child’s allergy.  Please call me at (740) 852-0161 Ext. 104 or email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it  to discuss your concerns regarding your child’s nutritional health.

Sincerely,

Robin Troyer
